CM Chandrababu Naidu 121Kg Gold Donets to Lord Venkateswara TTD
Amaravati, August 19, 2025 – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday revealed that a devotee has pledged a record 121 kilograms of gold worth nearly ₹140 crore to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala.
The Chief Minister said the contribution was made by an anonymous NRI devotee, who expressed his gratitude for his professional success and wished to remain unnamed. Naidu described the donation as one of the largest in recent times, noting that the offering is equivalent to the weight of ornaments currently adorning the deity.
“This generous act reflects the deep devotion and cultural values of our people. The devotee, despite achieving global success, wanted to dedicate his wealth at the feet of Lord Venkateswara,” Naidu said while addressing the media.
Naidu also highlighted the government’s support for such acts of faith, calling them not just offerings of wealth but expressions of spiritual connection. The Chief Minister emphasized that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has always been a center of devotion attracting contributions from devotees worldwide, and this remarkable pledge further reinforces its global spiritual significance.
While the announcement sparked excitement among devotees, officials from TTD said formalities for receiving and processing the donation are underway.
This is not the first time gold donations have made headlines around Naidu. In the past, his wife N. Bhuvaneswari donated her gold bangles in solidarity with Amaravati farmers’ protests. More recently, women from Tenali and Vijayawada handed over their gold ornaments and savings directly to the Chief Minister in support of Amaravati’s development.
The latest 121 kg gold pledge, however, stands out as a historic offering that once again places Tirumala temple and Andhra Pradesh in the national spotlight.
